Fifty young participants have emerged as winners in the June edition of Governor Bassey Otu’s 3rd Anniversary Projects Writing Trivia in Cross River State, with each receiving a direct cash reward of People’s First’ In Action: 50 Winners Emerge As Otu’s Special Adviser Gifts Cash To Winners in Projects Writing Trivia₦20,000.
The beneficiaries received bank credit alerts totaling ₦1 million, following a competitive vetting exercise conducted by a team of vetters.
The digital challenge called on young residents and observers of Cross River State to document the impact of the ‘People’s First’ administration since it assumed office in 2023. To qualify, participants were required to submit short notes (with photos) highlighting at least five developmental projects executed across sectors such as road infrastructure, electrification, healthcare, education, transportation, aviation, youth empowerment and others.
According to the organizers, entries were assessed based on originality, accuracy and depth of knowledge. Several submissions were disqualified for plagiarism duplication. The final list of 50 winners include both indigenes and non-indigenes who demonstrated clear understanding of how government interventions have affected local communities.
Some beneficiaries confirmed receipt of their prizes on social media and commended the initiative.
“Thank you Governor Bassey Otu and to everyone who made this possible, money well received,” said winner Julius Ebim.
Another winner, Okokhue Prezious, stated: “Thank you to Governor Otu and the team… I have received my money.”
Jibril Adamu and Divine Bishung also appreciated the administration, the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on PPME, and the organizing team for a seamless process.
The project writing engagement, now in its 3rd edition, was convened by Mr. Ralph Adoga Morphy, Special Adviser to the Governor on Projects, Programs, Monitoring and Evaluation.
Organizers said the challenge was designed to promote public data tracking and encourage citizens to monitor the state’s infrastructure and socio-economic progress. They congratulated the winners and urged other participants to look out for future editions of the trivia.
