DESOPADEC Executive Director Chief Kome Okpobor, has congratulated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on his double honours at the Independent Newspapers Silver Jubilee Awards 2025 in Lagos.
Governor Oborevwori was conferred with the Outstanding Governor of the Year and Best Governor in Urban Renewal of the Year 2025 awards at the event held at Eko Hotels and Suites.
In a congratulatory message , Chief Okpobor described the awards as “a fitting tribute to a governor who is indeed breaking barriers and shaping tomorrow” through deliberate infrastructure renewal and inclusive governance.
“These awards confirm what we in Delta already know — that His Excellency is a game changer.
The urban renewal projects across Delta State are redefining our state.
For Independent Newspapers to recognize this on their 25th anniversary shows that the M.O.R.E Agenda is not just a slogan, it is a visible reality,” Okpobor said.
He noted that DESOPADEC, as an interventionist agency, is proud to complement the state government’s efforts in oil-producing communities, and that the governor’s recognition would inspire greater synergy for development.
Chief Okpobor commended Independent Newspapers for 25 years of credible journalism and for celebrating leaders who deliver results.
